The main role of the secretary is to keep minutes of motions and decisions made by both the board and the general membership of the association. Minutes from meetings are considered legal documents for the IRS and other entities. The secretary also conducts correspondence for the association. The secretary should serve as a support to the president in whatever is needed.

Treasurer Basics | UtahPTA.org
The treasurer, elected by the members, is the legally responsible and authorized custodian of the funds of the PTA unit. The treasurer does more than make deposits and write checks. It is the treasurer who ensures that the unit’s finances are properly handled. This is a critical job, since proper handling of the unit’s finances will keep the unit in good standing and maintain its credibility with the members, the school, and the public.
Administrative VP | UtahPTA.org
Administrative VPs play a significant role in a successful PTA. As a member of the Local PTA Board, the Administrative VP working side-by-side with the PTA President and other officers create the “PTA culture” on that campus. Communication, planning and delivery of meetings, programs, and events will determine how members view the PTA’s relevance and value.
A PTA board includes a Teacher Vice President (VP) elected by the general membership according to the local bylaws Article VI. The Teacher VP should become familiar with the purposes, missions, bylaws, policies, and programs of PTA. They should act as a liaison and communication link between the PTA Board and the faculty.
Your bylaws determine the number you can have and it is suggested to have a range in that blank so from year to year, based on need, you can have the flexibility to change. Many PTAs have VPs based on the traditions at their school. It is ok to continue with those positions, but it is also ok to change it up as well.
You can do a needs assessment to see what your community thinks.
